Youth as Leaders celebrates another successful year

The Youth as Leaders (YAL) club is celebrating another successful year. Students in grades 10-12 have been learning to navigate real problems, building relationships with other students in the county and planning community service projects.

Along with other students from other Schoharie County schools, fifteen MHS students met at the Schoharie County Youth Bureau once a month during the 2022-23 school year. During each meeting, they focused on a lesson from the book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. The habits are:

  • Be proactive
  • Begin with the end in mind
  • Put first things first
  • Think win-win
  • Seek first to understand, then to be understood
  • Synergize
  • Sharpen the saw
