Pulling inspiration from books, art, and nature, second grade artists developed their finger painted Y trees into beautiful works of art. We first showed you this lesson in late January, at its first stage, of the finger painted trees. The artists also made the snow that they added to the branches.
Over time, students learned about Georgia O’Keeffe’s fascination with nature and all of its colors. Another part of the lesson was exploring how colors drive emotion in artwork. The class read What Color Was Your Day? The book by Camryn Wells explores how colors make you feel.
This is how second grade artists interpreted the lesson through their own creative expression.
