SBHC Extended Hours and Opportunity for Fluoride Varnish

Basset School-Based Health Clinic (SBHC) is encouraging parents and guardians to give their child’s dental hygiene extra attention and is offering fluoride varnish treatments to help keep your child’s teeth strong and healthy.

Remind your child to limit sugary drinks and snacks, brush their teeth twice daily and floss once a day. For an additional prevention against tooth decay, an application of fluoride varnish can be applied to help prevent cavities from forming and slow down decay. Students who are enrolled in SBHC are eligible to receive a fluoride varnish treatment at no cost. Consent forms are being mailed to households that are currently enrolled in SBHC. Forms should arrive by the end of the month.

Enrollment in SBHC is free.

Since 2007, Middleburgh Central School District has offered SBHC at the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High Schools. In partnership with Bassett Healthcare, the clinic provides convenient access to a full range of quality healthcare services to Pre-K-12 students. Participation in the program is voluntary, and students may keep their primary physician and still receive services through SBHC. Parents are welcome to accompany their child to their appointments.

To enroll, visit Bassett.org.

Important note: SBHC is offering extended hours until 6 p.m. on Feb. 27. Schedule an appointment by calling 518-827-3793.
