Ahead of prom and graduation season, the MCS SADD Chapter is focused on helping students realize that the decisions they make can help save lives. That is why they are bringing back the mock crash demonstration and Awareness Day to educate our juniors and seniors about the long term effects of their choices, both good and bad.
Made possible by a donation from the MCS Roundtable, this Thursday, May 12th, the national Save A Life program will be at the Jr. / Sr. High School with a virtual presentation starting at 8:15 in the auditorium. The lesson will move to the gym at 9:00 for a virtual reality driving experience and will continue throughout the day.
Students will get a behind-the-wheel experience of simulators replicating the consequences of distracted driving, impaired driving, improper driver behavior and seat belt usage. There will also be a mock crash demonstration in the side driveway and parking lot area behind Stewarts from 12:30 to 1:30.
Other community organizations that will be on hand to educate our students include: Schoharie County Mental Health, SCCASA, Schoharie County Stop DWI, Schoharie County Sheriff’s, Bassett Healthcare, Planned Parenthood, MEVAC, and the Fire Department.
