Dear MCS families,
The district learned an individual at the Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19 this afternoon, Tuesday, January 5. As a result, the Schoharie County DOH has advised approximately three staff members and 18 students to quarantine. Please know that we are continuing to work closely with local health officials and will update all families if further steps need to be taken.
Middleburgh Central School District continues to thoroughly clean and disinfect all buildings on campus in accordance with requirements from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC. It is important to understand that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any identifiable information about a person who has tested positive.
Let’s all be reminded of the importance of staying vigilant in the coming weeks. If we all do our part, we can keep our schools open. We sincerely appreciate your continued partnership in helping protect the health and safety of our school community.
Thank you,
Brian P. Dunn
Superintendent of Schools
