Dear MCS families,
The district has completed our staff and student close contact list and will be forwarding their names to the Schoharie Department of Health. The DOH is putting these individuals on mandatory quarantine as a result of our research. I am sorry for the students and staff members who will be getting that call.
As a result, and due to a shortage of staffing, grades 7-12 will continue with remote instruction until the DOH defines the length of the mandatory quarantine. Expect this to be the strategy through the week, at minimum. We will reach out when we know more.
The good news is, we can bring 5th and 6th grade classes back to in-person instruction beginning Monday, December 14.
The elementary school was not impacted and will continue with in-person instruction. There are no changes with transportation for BOCES and out of district placements.
I want to express my gratitude to our faculty and staff, to those on the close contact list, and all MCS families for their cooperation and toughness.
Please let me know what you may need.
Brian Dunn
Superintendent of Schools
