Middleburgh Central School District is pleased to announce it was awarded a $3,000 Dollar General Literacy Foundation Youth Literacy Grant to benefit the district’s elementary readers, especially those who read below grade-level or have disabilities.
Funds will be used to purchase an instructional reading program that includes thousands of e-book titles and intervention software to track reading progress. Students will receive reading instruction and interventions tailored to their reading level and interests, all with the goal of improving their achievement in reading.
The grant was written in conjunction with the Capital Region BOCES grant writing service.
“We greatly appreciate Dollar General Literacy Foundation for their generosity and support,” said Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Anne Young. “The grant will be used to enhance our literacy program at the Elementary School.”
