We commend student musicians at the Jr./Sr. High School for their commitment to their craft and a job well done at the spring New York State Schools Music Association Evaluations. The event was virtual this year.
Six students auditioned for Vocal All-State: Luke Bramer, Megan Bramer, Anna Churchill, Sienna Kelley, Aidan Martin, Cameryn Shultes. Each of the students received an A or A+ rating (score of 96 or higher).
Three high school vocal students who scored a 96 or higher on their NYSSMA solos: Chloe LaBombard, Olivia Skowfoe, and Quin Smith.
Three piano students scored a 96 or higher on their NYSSMA Solos: Sienna Kelley, Tadhg Martin, and Quin Smith.
Middleburgh’s 7-12 band students participated in NYSSMA at different levels. Sienna Kelley, Aidan Martin, and Matthew Croote auditioned for All-State. Many students were rated as either Excellent or Outstanding, with Matthew Quinn, Shane Smith, and William Churchill as the top scorers with 27/28, 96, and 95, respectively.
The students who auditioned for All-State will find out if they made it this summer. We will keep you posted. Congratulations to all who participated!
