All schools in New York State must complete an emergency early release drill, once per year, that requires the district to evacuate our students and staff at least 15 minutes before their regular dismissal time. This drill helps prepare our community in the case of an emergency that would require the district to transport the entire student body home or to another location prior to the end of the school day.
The early release drill is set for Friday, Nov. 8. Here are the plans for each building:
Jr-Sr High School: Students will be released at 2:30 p.m. Athletes who have practice or a game have been notified of where they should assemble.
Elementary School: Students who get picked up will be released at 2:25 p.m., and students who take the bus will be dismissed at 2:40 p.m. The after-school program will be held as usual.
As a reminder, the entire district will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day.
