District to transition to Google Suite for Education beginning this school year

G suite artThe Middleburgh School District is transitioning to the Google Suite for Education platform as part of its detailed preparation for the 2020-21 school year.

“The challenges of this upcoming school year require us to offer the best possible in-class and remote instruction experience to all our students,” said Superintendent Brian P. Dunn. “Google Suite for Education will provide us with the necessary platform, which offers significant advantages to staff and students, to assist in this.”

Google Suite for Education is a tool for managing classroom instruction in either a traditional classroom or a remote education setting.

Google Classroom provides the opportunity for teachers to provide assignments/resources for students in a single place, collaborate in real time, and streamlines the feedback process on assignments to verify proof of learning, and more benefits.

As part of the transition to Google, staff will undergo training, which will continue throughout the year, to ensure they are prepared to introduce students with this user-friendly platform when school begins.

“This is an important technology upgrade for Middleburgh,” added Mr. Dunn. “This is another way we’re preparing our students to be college and career ready.”
