One thousand boxes of farm-fresh food will be handed out between noon and 2:00PM, this Saturday, October 24, at the Duanesburg YMCA, 221 Victoria Drive in Delanson.
The Farmers to Families Food Box will vary upon availability, but each will contain 30-40 pounds of assorted fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, eggs, cheese, butter, cream cheese and milk.
Superintendent Brian Dunn wants to help get the word out and is grateful for this opportunity, “Our thanks to the Capital District YMCA and the Redeemer Church for offering this help to our county and our community during a time of need.”
Farmers, ranchers, specialty crop producers, food processors, distributors, and non-profit organizations are working in cooperation with the USDA to ensure that all Americans have access to fresh and wholesome food during the COVID-19 national emergency.
Volunteers are needed for this effort. If you can help with the distribution, please click here for contact information.
