When the Middleburgh Central School District is forced to close schools, delay start times or dismiss students early due to inclement weather or other emergency conditions, that information will be reported in a variety of ways.
Closing school involves a lot more than just looking out the window. Many people are consulted in the early morning before the superintendent makes the final call.
Notifications for Closings and Delays
The district will use the following methods to communicate closings and delays to parents, students, and community members:
- Information closings and delays will be posted to the district homepage
- Closing and delay notifications will be sent through ParentSquare. For the web version, you can download it using this link.
- You can also download the free app for your mobile device. The ParentSquare app gives the district the ability to send push alerts, emails, text messages, and phone calls. All will be used to alert parents and students of closings or delays
- Information will be posted by local television and radio stations, including Channel 6, Channel 9, Channel 10, Channel 13, and the Times Union website. Many of the organizations offer the ability for users to sign up to receive email and/or text messages in the event of a closing or delay.
