Mr. Rivet’s physics students had a challenge to create a machine that would least efficiently open a book. They took their ideas to the Rube Goldberg Machine competition at Tech Valley High School on the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Campus.
Each Middleburgh team won an award. Kaurice Bell, Anna Churchill, Danielle Chichester, Matt Croote, Ben Diamond, Matt Nikolaus, Dylan O’Dell, and Cameryn Shultes created impressive machines and earned awards for Most Mechanically Creative, and Highest Quality Build (two of our teams tied for this one).
“We look forward to competing again next year, and thanks to Tech Valley and SUNY Poly for hosting us,” said Mr. Rivet, “SUNY Poly was able to show us a heated plasma demonstration as well!” For more photos, check out this Facebook post.
