COVID-19 Case: Grades 5-12 Will Move to Remote Learning Friday, December 11

Dear MCS families,

This evening, December 10, the Schoharie Health Department informed the district about a single positive COVID-19 case out of the Jr. Sr. High School. Due to this discovery, grades 5-12 will move to remote learning tomorrow, Friday, December 11.

The district is working closely with the Schoharie County Department of Health to assist with contract tracing. It is important to note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

We are transporting students to the elementary school, out of district placements, and BOCES.

In accordance with requirements from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC, Middleburgh Central School District continues to thoroughly clean and disinfect all buildings.

As we get more information, we will contact parents with updates and next steps. Thank you for your patience.

Sincerely,

Brian Dunn
Superintendent of Schools
