MCS to launch 4-H Afterschool Program in collaboration with Cornell Cooperative Extension

Middleburgh Central School district is excited to announce that we are collaborating with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schoharie and Otsego Counties to offer a three-hour, five-day a week 4-H Youth Development Afterschool Program for all Kindergarten-Eighth grade students. The program will start on September 9th.

This community partnership with the Cornell Cooperative Extension will run Monday-Friday and follow the Middleburgh School District calendar. Locations will include the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School.

After school program fees will be waived for the first 44 families that register for the program. Also, transportation will be provided daily after the program. Busing will follow the A, B, and C routes and will not be door-to-door drop-offs.

At the after school program, students are provided:

  • A nutritious snack
  • A supervised place for homework
  • An opportunity to explore the 4-H club experience, which is integrated with STEM
  • Supervised recreation in the gym or outdoors
