MCS introduces Sydney DeThomasis, our new elementary school social worker. Hailing from Albany, NY, she brings experience and a passion for helping students succeed.
Ms. DeThomasis earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Relations from SUNY Plattsburgh. Upon graduation, she spent a year at St. Catherine’s Center for Children providing vital community-based services. She then pursued a master’s degree in Social Work at UAlbany, achieving that goal in 2024. Now, Ms. DeThomasis helps MCS students achieve their social and academic goals.

Question: What is your favorite book, movie or hobby?
I love skiing in the winter!
