Middleburgh elementary students went on an art adventure on Nov. 2, attending “Claude Monet: The Immersive Experience in Schenectady.” The 65 members of the art club were able to experience paintings such as “Haystack at the End of Summer 1891,” “Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies 1899,” and “Poppies 1873” while learning more about the French painter and impressionism.
The exhibit offers students an experience of learning about Monet and his style through a 360-degree light and sound exhibit, a virtual reality ride through Monet’s artistic journey, and by creating art inspired by Monet.
Art Club advisor and teacher Kimberly Audino says it was an exceptional student opportunity.
“The experience was spectacular,” said Audino. “It was unanimous that virtual reality won overall! I would like to give a big ‘thank you” to the district for giving the students this opportunity and to all my amazing chaperones!
