The Middleburgh Rotary has extended an invitation to MCS families interested in participating in its Youth Exchange Program. As part of this initiative, the Rotary is looking for potential host families willing to accommodate exchange students for 3 to 4 months during the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. Hosting a student offers a unique opportunity to bring a global perspective into your home and fosters connections that often last a lifetime. Host families provide exchange students with a safe and caring environment, introduce them to American culture, and act as a support system. More details about becoming a host family can be found here.
The Middleburgh Rotary is also looking for students interested in broadening their cultural horizons through the program. Students have the opportunity to live abroad with a host family for either a short-term (several days or months) or a long-term exchange (1 year). The cultural immersion of an exchange experience can help students gain adaptability and independence while helping them gain a deeper understanding of the larger world. Students can better understand many core academic disciplines like world history, geography, economics and civics and may develop a greater proficiency in another language. More details about the student exchange program can be found here.
A slide show about the program is available here.
