Senior Athletes
Middleburgh Central School District recognizes the contributions of our Class of 2024 student-athletes to our community. MCSD believes opportunities to participate in sports during and after school is essential to a well-balanced educational program.
Some Class of 2024 athletes have shared their thoughts about their experiences with the programs and how participation has helped prepare them for the future. Comments are below.
MCSD supports a comprehensive sports program with equal access for all students, emphasizing maximum participation through interscholastic and intramural activity.
“My favorite memory participating in athletics was when our soccer team beat Doane Stuart at Homecoming. Participating in athletics has given me many opportunities, and helped me make many new friends. I’ve built bonds I would’ve never built if it weren’t for athletics.” -Kaitlin Nelson
“My favorite memory was winning the league title for MCS Boys Varsity Soccer in the 2023 season. To do it with this group of guys was incredibly special in many ways. Athletics has helped me grow by teaching me to challenge myself, serve others, and enjoy every single moment.” – Austin Johns
“My favorite memory would have to be tying Schoharie in double overtime.” -Alivia Foland

“My favorite memory in sports was winning the league in soccer my senior year. It was something that we were so close to doing in my previous years but we finally got in on my last year of playing.” -Nathan Wood
“Participating in athletics helped me grow and learn as a person and as a player. The coaches are a big impact on who we are as a student as a student athlete. A special thank you to Mr. Bornt for being my coach from when I was 12- all the way up until 18. He picked me up as a student, and always made sure to reassure me after games of how well I played when I was hard on myself. As the team captain, he always helped me pick my head up, when I needed to pick the rest of the team up. That was my job.” -Kaelynn Wainwright
