UPDATE: Due to anticipated icy weather, the Feb. 6 Open Houses have been postponed until Feb. 13.
Whether their interests lie in becoming an engineer, mechanic, chef, heavy equipment operator or something completely different, Capital Region BOCES has something to offer students in Schoharie, Schenectady and Albany counties.
Open houses are planned for February and March at the Schoharie Campus and the Center for Advanced Technology in Rotterdam to highlight the unique opportunities to career and technical school students at those campuses.
On Feb. 5 and 13, the Schoharie Career and Technical Education campus will open its doors to high school sophomores in Schoharie county and neighboring school districts. Those schools have scheduled visitation times and will bring their students to the campus. Any parent interested in learning more about the programs offered is encouraged to call 518-295-3000 to schedule a tour of the programs. The Schoharie campus is located at 174 State Route 30A in Schoharie.
Also on Feb. 13, an evening open house will take place on the Schoharie Campus. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.
On March 21, the Center for Advanced Technology at Mohonasen will host an open house at 5:30 p.m. for parents and students interested in programs there. The campus is located at 400 Warrior Way in Schenectady on the Mohonasen High School campus.
Open houses for the Albany Campus already occurred, but students interested in the programs there are always encouraged to call 518 862-4801 for information or to schedule a tour.
A full breakdown of programs and the campuses they are offered on is available here.
