Mark your calendars: The Scho-Burgh Games are back.
Let’s show Schoharie how Middleburgh brings the fans!
This Schoharie and Middleburgh basketball tradition started back in 2002 to commemorate the long-storied rivalry between the neighboring towns and communities. The games between the two school districts became so well attended that in 2013 they were moved to SUNY Cobleskill.
After a brief change in venue due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year Middleburgh is returning to SUNY Cobleskill on Jan. 5 and 6 ready for competition with Schoharie.
“My experience is that it is very competitive, but it is a healthy rivalry that brings our communities together,” Middleburgh Central School District Athletic Co-Director Gregg Johns said. “It’s an important event that gives our students the chance to play on a college court, and everybody looks forward to the Scho-Burgh.”
