Cherie Stevens Memorial Performing Arts Award

Sponsored by the Theater Project of Schoharie County

This award is given to a graduating senior who will be pursuing further education in the performing arts, or who throughout their high school tenure participated in the performing arts in theater, chorus or instrumental pursuits.   As a community theater group, it is our hope that our award will encourage students at the collegiate level to continue to embrace and share the performing arts with others. Cherie Stevens was an active member of the Theater Project of Schoharie County as a board member and director of numerous musicals around the county for the past 30+ years.  Additionally, she founded “Marathon for a Better Life” which helps cancer patients and their families in Schoharie County.  Cherie was an accomplished musician performing with the “Hot Pots” for local nursing facilities and organizations as well as a visual artist in watercolor, pencil and acrylics.  Cherie loved her community and demonstrated it by being active in so many ways.  We are happy to reward a student in her memory who also possesses many of these qualities.  The winner was chosen by the sponsor.

Middleburgh Cheerleaders-MCS Booster Club Cheerleading Spirit Award

Given by the Middleburgh Cheerleaders in Conjunction with the MCS Booster Club.

The Cheerleading Spirit Award is given to the senior who has shown school spirit on the field or court and in the school halls. The student should not only show a passion for the sport but have been an example of school spirit.  The chosen athlete also needs to display good sportsmanship to teammates, competing athletes and their classmates.  This award is given through the efforts of the cheerleading community with the support from the MCS Booster Club in thanks to this athlete for being a role model by participating with spirit and pride in school, sports and life.
