Event Updates: Middleburgh Elementary School
Tomorrow, Friday, June 14, the Grades 3-5 Track & Field meet
will be starting at 12:00pm at the high school track (weather
permitting); Elementary field days scheduled for Friday have
been canceled and modified activities will take place on
Monday & Tuesday during regularly scheduled specials; Those
fathers in grades 3-5 who plan to attend the Father’s day
luncheon should arrive for 11am lunch. Lunch schedules have
been modified to allow the students to eat prior to the track
meet in assigned classrooms. We appreciate your patience as we
continue to work around Mother Nature’s schedule.
Please remember as the school year is drawing to a close, students will no longer be able to charge lunches as of Friday, June 7. Please take a moment to check your child’s lunch account to ensure there are no outstanding meal account balances and that the account contains sufficient funds for the remainder of the year.
The food service department celebrated Mother's Day by inviting the students to bring their mom or special friend to lunch on Friday. Lots of happy faces were found in the elementary cafeteria. Please enjoy a slideshow of the event.
As a culminating activity of learning about the Underground
Railroad, human rights, and social injustice second graders
performed "If You Followed the Drinking Gourd".

Congratulations
to MCS 5th graders Ashly Donato, Jaydon Santoro, Jacob Wood,
Ania Keidong, Devin Prokop, and Morgan Schafroth who received
the Capital Zone Physical Education Leadership Award. They
were honored on May 6th at HVCC along with over 550 other
students.
Fourth and fifth grade MCS students are invited to join a Runners' Club that will meet Tuesdays, March 19-June 4 from 3 to 3:45 p.m. at Middleburgh Elementary School. Please see the flyer for more information.
The choral groups of Middleburgh Central School will present the Music in Our Schools Month All Vocal Concert on Tuesday, March 19, 7:00, in the district auditorium. This year’s theme is “Honoring the Emancipation Proclamation”. The groups will perform songs from Africa or that originated in the African-American community. Special guests Kim and Reggie Harris will perform with the High School Choir through a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts as part of its Decentralization grants program. MORE

for taking first place in the Spelling Bee on Friday, January

The Middleburgh Elementary School Physical Education Department had a team challenge between all nine of the third through fifth grade classes from November 16 until December 7. Each class picked a college basketball team out of a hat during the physical education class period, and that is the team that they were to follow for three weeks. MORE
Fourth Grader, Julianna Keyser took 1st Place with the
spelling of 'casualty'. Juliana won $25 donated;
Fifth Grader, Ryan Fritz - 2nd Place won $15 and
Fifth Grader, Juliana Ryan - 3rd Place won $10.
Cash prizes were donated by the ES PTO. In
addition, Julianna Keyser won an online subscription to
Encyclopedia Britannica and Powerspeak, an online
language course!

Middleburgh Elementary School
families were invited to join their children for lunch
today at the school to celebrate Thanksgiving. The menu
included oven-roasted turkey, sweet potatoes and
butternut squash, homemade gravy, bread stuffing, dinner
roll, cranberry sauce, assorted fruit and milk.

heroes, princesses, mummies, animals and more roamed
Middleburgh Elementary School today during the annual
Halloween Parade. Family members lined the sidewalk as
students paraded by, accompanied by the High School marching
band.

On Wednesday, Oct. 24, Middleburgh Elementary School will host a bring your family to lunch day. Families are invited to join their elementary schooler during the student's regularly scheduled lunch time for a meal of baked Pasta with meat sauce and cheese, green beans, whole wheat breadsticks and assorted fruit. We hope you'll join us for a fun, healthy and delicious lunch that's a great deal to boot: Adult lunch is only $3.88; student lunch is $1.85 (free and reduced lunch pricing applies as always).
Middleburgh Fire Department, with the help of their volunteers, spent the week teaching the students about fire safety. Thank you firemen!
Staff, students and parents helped cleanup the school yard during the Oct. 11 Kids Make a Difference Service Project.
